Department

Coins and medals Department of the State Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts was organized after Second World War on the basis of the collection of coins and medals coming from the Imperial Moscow University.  Department was headed by known numismatists - Dr. Konstantin Golenko, Dr. Luydmila Kazamanova, Dr. Alla Kosareva. It contains five sections: Classical, Oriental, Russian, European and plaster casts. At present time collection totals over 200 000 pieces - both originals and copies.
