The monograph covers 300 years of history of the Swedish numismatic collection kept in the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. The first owner of it was the founder of Swedish numismatics Elias Brenner (1647-1717). After his death, the collection changed hands until the collector and benefactor Pavel Demidov (1738-1821) got it. In 1803, he donated all his collections to Moscow University. In 1912, this numismatic treasures moved to the Museum of Fine Arts named after Alexander III (nowadays, the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts).
The book includes commented catalogue of coins and medals originated from this legendary collection.
