“Numismatics and Epigraphy” is known Russian edition: its 15 volumes were issued during 1960-1989 by Professor Dmitrii Shelov (1919-1993). Since 1999 Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts became an initiator of prolongation of “Numismatics and Epigraphy”. Now the ХХth tome of the journal is out of print in cooperation with the Institute of Archaeology.

The collection of articles pays tribute to the memory of Dr. Nina Frolova and Professor Gennadii Koshelenko – renowned Russian specialists of Classics, Archaeology, Numismatics and Epigraphy: these very respective and most prominent scholars were lost in 2015 for the Russian Numismatic community.

The XXth tome of the “Numismatics & Epigraphy” comprises the publication of the new, so far unknown Greek and Latin epigraphy materials and its study. A numismatic section of the book includes some papers dealing with important questions of the metrology, a coin history and chronology, as well as publications and classifications of numismatic materials since Antiquity until the Medieval period and epoch of 15-16th centuries.
