Yurii Dukov 17.11.2014 On the 18th February, 2014 Yurii Dukov (1939-2014), former curator of the Greek Coins in the State Hermitage (1967-2012), died after a long illness. The main focus of his scholarly interest was researching the Bosporan coinage and iconography of the Greek Coins. During almost 10 years, in the 1980s, he was Chief Curator of the State Hermitage. He was really attentive and kind person for all who new him and made huge efforts to help other curators and scholars in their study of the Hermitage coins. |

XXXIII Congress of the International Art Medal Federation (FIDEM) 20.02.2014 The 33rd Congress of the International Art Medal Federation (FIDEM), will take place in Sofia, Bulgaria between 2nd and 6th of September 2014. Artists and scholars from all over the world will participate in the Congress. The Congress will be accompanied by a medal exhibition of more than 900 medals from many countries. This exhibition will take place in Sofia and will be available for a month. As part of the Congress there will also be a very interesting and diverse social programme, which will enable to discover more about Bulgaria and its tradition of medallic sculpture. |
