Department library lists more than 2000 volumes and comprises rare numismatic editions (the earliest are dated from the beginning of the 18th century) as well as recent Russian and European numismatic literature. Along with standard numismatic catalogues there is a lot of monographies dealt with various fields of the numismatic research and comprehensive sets of Russian and foreign numismatic periodicals. Library possesses the biggest in Russia (more than 3000 volumes) lot of auction catalogues generously presented by the Coins&Medals Department of the Fitzwilliam Museum (Cambridge, Great Britain).
