One of the main task of the charities' program conducted by the Open Joint-Stock Company LUKOIL is preservation of the Russian cultural heritage. It means further development of Russian culture, revival of spirituality and preservation of national values.
LUKOIL supports the biggest Russian museums - Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts, Kremlin Museum, State Russian Museum, Tret'yakov Gallery.
The Company has acquired the painting "Evening Cafe" by the Spanish impressionist Hermenegildo Anglada-i-Kamarasa, which was presented to the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts; it has conducted restoration work in the Gallery of European and American Arts of 19-20 centuries; multivolume Catalogue of the West-European graphics printed in Netherlands has been acquired for the Museum as well. LUKOIL took part in the foundation of the Centre for the Esthetical Education of Children and Youth and financed exhibition "Babylonian Tower. Earth-Heaven".
The Company supports many creative collectives, which belong to the gold fund of Russian culture.
The Company representatives are members of the Trustees Boards of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre and Moscow State Conservatory named after P.I. Chaikovskii.
The Company has participated in the building of new concert hall of Mariinskii Theatre in St. Petersburg.
Close friendly relations tie LUKOIL and Big Symphonic Orchestra named after Chaikovskii. The Company is its general partner and annually spends considerable sums for fulfilment of its concert activity.
Due to the 150-th anniversary of the known Russian engineer V.G. Shukhov LUKOIL and International Union of Scientific and Engineering Public Associations put forward initiative to erect monument to this prominent scholar in the Sretenskii boulevard, where the his laboratory was situated. The Company financed the creation of the monument and presented it to Moscow.
LUKOIL tries to preserve cultural heritage and support art in all regions of its activity. Astrakhan' Kremlin, Sholokhov Memorial Museum in Volgograd area, Volgograd Youth Theatre, Kirov Art Museum named after Vasnetsov, Perm' Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Chaikovskii are addressees of Company's support.
